It’s that time again! – Training and VBS

While it feels like we just wrapped up exploring the sea during Submerged, it’s time we turn our attention to the stars for VBS 2017 – Galactic Starveyors. With that being said, we must also begin planning and training.

Did you know:

“Statistics show that for every leader trained, 1.1 professions of faith are reported” – Jerry Wooley, Lifeway’s VBS Specialist

That’s HUGE. And when it comes to salvations, most people accept Christ as their Savior before the age of 14, which plays a huge role in their lives, as 70% (that’s 7 out of 10) youth will drop out of church after graduation.  If we can make disciples of our children at an early age, we can give them a better grounding in the Word. But we have to equip ourselves to teach them.

To help, we have two trainings scheduled for January, and more throughout the spring. Teachers, volunteers, whoever, we urge you to try and attend these.

January 21 – The Summit (KidMin and YouthMin Summits) through the EBA at 12th Street Baptist Church (Contact Hollie Ivey for more details) and see previous blog post (Summit Conference 2017 – Ministry Training)

January 28 – VBS Team Meeting in the Fellowship Hall, 1 to 3pm (VBS planning and introduction)

We hope to see you there!
